SS France (Part 1) The SS France was a Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT, or French Line) ocean liner, constructed at the shipyard at Saint-Nazaire, France, and went into service in February 1962. At the time of her construction in 1960 she was the longest passenger ship ever built, surpassed by the 345-metre RMS Queen Mary 2 built in 2004. She was sold to be scrapped in 2006, and the demolition was completed in late 2008.

MS Gripsholm (Part 2) was a transatlantic liner from 1957 to 71 after that she became a cruise liner, first as MS Navarino (1975) than MS Regent Sea (1984) and finally as MS Star. In early 2001 the ship was sold for scrap, on route she was looted by pirates on July 12 2001 she sank in heavy seas off Algoa Bay in South Africa.
