Ocean Superliners: The SS Pairs on April 18, 1939 caught fire and capsized while docked in Le Havre, Europa a German ship being refitted to become the Liberté was pulled from her moorings during a gale storm and collided with the capsized Paris and began to sink herself. The Liberté was salvaged and continued her refitting.
