Ocean Superliners: SS Europa...In 1945 the liner was captured by the Allies and used as a troopship, sailing as the USS Europa. In 1946 the French took over ownership and she became the SS Liberté and went into service from 1950 till 1963 before being scrapped. The ship was featured in the Jane Russell film 'The French Line' and Audrey Hepburn's 'Sabrina'.
