White Star Lines 'Laurentic' Launched in 1927 was torpedoed and sunk by U-99 off the west coast of Ireland on 3 November 1940. Her earlier sister struck two mines off Lough Swilly in the north of Ireland on 25 January 1917 and sank within an hour.
